Abdul Rahman Al Kos – HBSc
Abdul is currently completing his Honours BSc with a major in Biology for Health Sciences and a double minor in Chemistry and Mathematics at the University of Toronto Mississauga. He is studying the evolution of the pre-synaptic proteins-protein interactions that recruit voltage-gated calcium channels to the active zone.
Outside the lab, Abdul enjoys swimming, playing soccer and watching medical drama shows.
Yoon Soo Chang – HBSc
Yoon Soo is a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto Mississauga, where he is pursuing an Honours Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Molecular Biology and a minor in Chemistry. In the Senatore Lab, Yoon Soo is using electrophysiology to study the evolution of ionotropic glutamate receptors.
Outside the lab, Yoon Soo enjoys running, working out, as well as playing volleyball and basketball.
Laura Crupi – HBSc
Laura is in her third year of her Honours Bachelor of Science at UTM, specializing in Biology. In her second year, she completed one year of research in Sociology studying the role of failure in teaching and learning and has a pending publication in The Canadian Journal for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. In the Senatore Lab, she is using electrophysiology to study Deg/ENaC sodium channel evolution. Concurrently, she is a research assistant on an effort focusing on humanizing learning in higher education.
Outside of school, Laura has a passion for cooking and baking foods from all over the world, working out, and taking long walks through nature.
Yuet Kay Fong – BSc
Yuet Kay is a fourth-year undergraduate student completing her Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience at UTM. She has a great interest in neuroscience, and in the Senatore lab, she is doing research to study the electrophysiological properties and evolution of Deg/ENaC sodium channels.
When not in the lab she enjoys playing video games, reading, and fishing.
Evana Maria – HBSc
Evana Maria is completing her HBSc with a Specialist in Molecular Biology and a minor in Chemistry at the University of Toronto Mississauga. Evana’s research involves investigating protein interactions between a novel ion channel identified in the placozoan Trichoplax adhaerens in an effort to better understand its function.
Outside the lab, Evana enjoys baking, spending time with friends and family, and playing volleyball.
