Former Students

Sally Abdallah – MSc

Sally completed her Honours Bachelor of Science degree with a double Major in Biology for Health Science and Psychology at the University of Toronto Mississauga, and defended her Master’s degree in the Senatore lab during the summer of 2018. Her research focused on pre-synaptic voltage-gated calcium channels in the early-diverging animal Trichoplax adhaerens.

Yuen Yan Wong – MSc

Yan completed her Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience at the University of Toronto St. George Campus, and defended her Master’s degree in the Senatore lab in the summer of 2018. She is now pursuing a PhD in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at U of T.

Alicia Harracksingh – MSc student

Alicia defended her MSc thesis in the fall of 2019, researching the evolution of pre-synaptic protein-protein interactions with a focus on mechanisms for voltage-gated calcium channel tethering at the active zone close to exocytotic vesicles. Alicia completed her BSc (Honours) from University of Toronto Scarborough in 2017, with a double Major in Neuroscience and Molecular Biology. Alicia began in the Senatore lab as an undergraduate researcher doing a BIO481 research project, and went on to work as a research assistant before beginning her MSc.

When not in the lab, Alicia enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and napping.
